When renting a drone, it is important to take into consideration the operator, the pilot’s certification, the flight zone coordinates and flight points, the flight permit application process, the restrictions for flying in cities, military areas, and airports, and the penalties for unauthorized drone use.
The person renting the drone must have a Commercial UAV Pilot certificate and must inform the pilot of the flight zone coordinates and flight points in advance. The pilot is responsible for any accidents or penalties that may occur during the flight. It is also important to contact the pilot at least 25 days before the flight date, as permitting procedures may vary in different countries.
In Turkey, it is difficult to obtain a flight permit in city centers, and drone use is not permitted in areas close to military areas and airports. Additionally, flying drones without permission can result in a penalty of 5 years in prison and a fine of 20,000 TL.
